In a previous post on this blog I discussed an interesting book "The End of Religion" - written by Bruxy Cavey. Today in an unrelated video, Bruxy used a term that caught my attention,"EMPATHETIC INITIATIVE", which means "to proactively extend empathy to people around us".
I liked his illustration of a rock, which does no harm, but does no good either. The rock just sits there. Bruxy said some people live their life like the rock. They do what they feel like doing without hurting anyone, but don't reach out to help others. In other words, they don't do harm, but don't do much good either.
