WISDOM OF A GRANDKID

"Without you in "are" lives, we would "probly" be "wondering" into outer space.....and whenever I think of the word birds I think of a picture of you in my head "cuse" I know how much you love birds."

May 2013 - This was an excerpt from a birthday card given to Mom today from one of her many great grand kids. Mom turned 92 years old and we had a celebration!

LAKESIDE TRAIL?

Good start this morning on what we thought was Lakeside Trail, but about 2 miles into the trail we encountered an unusual amount of thorns, mud, rocks, and very little trail.

There were amazing spider webs everywhere, and it seemed wrong to walk through what obviously took a long time for the spider to build. The webs were fascinating and complex.

About three and one half miles into the hike we realized that at some point we made a wrong turn, since the trail we were on had been closed. Our grandson's GPS skills got us back to Lakeside Trail.

Interesting Granddaughters
Was thinking about a discussion with two of our grandkids. In the middle of our conversation both grandkids impulsively started doing back flips across the living room floor, while still talking! You gotta' love the creative improvisation of kids.

I was reminded of this when I recently watched a TED Talk. Jennifer was only 14 years old when she visited TED Talk, but had clearly spent most of her life in front of 88 keys. For this talk she was handed 5 random notes (by Goldie Hawn) and completely improvised a melody. Beautiful! Click on the icon above. You can forward to 17:00 to view her incredible creativity without planning.

LOONEY TOONS

At first, our grandson had some problems with the fishing gear. But it wasn't long before he mastered the casting. It wasn't long before he started to untangle his own line. And bait his own hook. Great kid!

And what do you do after a fun morning on the lake? You sit on the family swing and eat ice cream with Nana!

TAKING A BREAK SURE WOULD HELP A LOT

Our granddaughter had to take a break one year ago from gymnastics practice, due to an injury to her foot.  One year later, she's good. She had already racked up an impressive list of awards and trophies, so we were hoping she would heal quickly and come back stronger than ever. She did. Here are just a few pictures we've taken at a couple of her previous gymnastics meets.

CHOICES

SISTERS BY BLOOD, FRIENDS BY CHOICE
Because of a medical emergency, we have been watching seven (of our twelve) grandkids this week, while their parents are out of town.

HOT KID!

Most of the soccer matches for our grandkids are in the fall and spring. Good thing, since hot temps don't stop Summertime from playing passionately, even though it is still summertime.

Her brother was a hot kid too!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOSES!

Our youngest (of twelve) grand kids turned three (months) today. I guess his mother should get the basket (for the Nile) ready. For those who aren't familiar with "the story", click HERE.

WHAT AN ATTITUDE

Took this picture at our brother and sister-in-laws house today
Our great niece really liked me today. Actually, she seems to be in a continual state of happy, no matter who's around.
