"It’s been said that if you want to know a people, know their proverbs"
We often visit Amish Country in Lancaster County PA, not far from where we live. Over the years we've enjoyed these day trips, and our visits have allowed us to better understand and experience the Amish lifestyle. During a recent visit to a country store we noticed a number of Amish proverbs.The proverbs make sense. Here's a few examples.....
"The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have been kind to you".
"Those who have no children know best how to raise them."
“How we spend Christmas is of greater significance than how much we spend for it.”
“A smile is a curve that can straighten out a lot of things.”
