We often visit Amish Country in Lancaster County PA, not far from where we live; just across the Susquehanna River. Over the years, we've enjoyed these day trips and our visits have provided a better understanding of the Amish lifestyle. Just after a recent visit I happened to notice a Kindle book called "Amish Proverbs". It was free, so I hit the download button.
The author collected more than 400 proverbs about the heritage, faith, values and essence of these people. Actually, the proverbs are interesting, and they make sense, and not just for the Amish. They can be applied to everyones circumstances. The proverbs range from humorous to serious and from simple to profound, like "The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have been kind to you".
