This morning I was thinking about bedtime reading we've done over the years. One favorite was "Put Something In" by Shel Silverstein.
Inside everybody’s nose
There lives a sharp-toothed snail.
So if you stick your finger in,
He may bite off your nail.
Stick it farther up inside,
And he may bite your ring off.
Stick it all the way, and he
May bite the whole thing off.
Another favorite with our youngest (Melody) was "I Love You Goodnight" by Jon Buller. Our feelings toward Melody are the same after twenty plus years; "I love you like frogs love flies, I love you like pigs love pies"
