PARENTING, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

Image courtesy of Pennsylvania Game Commission 8:45 am

It's tough being a parent! (NestCam this morning).

A guy at the YMCA told me yesterday that God made an eagle so they spread their underside feathers to put the eggs in direct contact with their warm skin. The eagles are so protective of their eggs, that the male eagle sometimes has to literally force the mother off the eggs, since she doesn't want to leave them. The eagles will die protecting their young. Seems like they are not much different than human parents.

NOAH ON STAGE
Speaking of parenting, we enjoyed the musical at Dover High School last evening and are proud of our grandson. The premise of Fiddler on the Roof is about breaking tradition, one tradition being arranged marriages. Not sure how this works in the eagle world.

Saw this posted on Facbook and thought it was pretty impressive. Not sure who took the picture but I think the snake is about to take an unscheduled flight.

 NESTCAM update today
The only thing visible is the eagles head. Looks like snow also got on the camera lens. Another beautiful day in PA!
