Melody, Ted Talks, Dover High School, National Geographic

Our daughter Melody interviewed the Creative Director at WGAL TV today. Melody is a senior a Messiah College majoring in digital media. After the interview WGAL gave her the grand tour, including introductions to some of the on-air personalities.  Click HERE for her picture.

Watched an interesting TED Talk video today while on the treadmill called "What's Your Prison?".  At the age of 18, Paul was a high-school dropout in prison for murder. While spending time in maximum security he discovered the life enriching quality of learning. This led him to voraciously pursue both formal and informal means of education. He acquired both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Psychology and Philosophy while in prison and by the time he was released he was two years into a Doctorate in Psychology. Paul is now a respected coach and consultant who uses his knowledge and experience to assist individuals and organizations achieve their developmental goals. Paul used his own journey to illustrate how mental prisons can be just as stifling as physical prisons.

Also watched another video called "Where Good Ideas Come FromPeople often credit their ideas to individual "Eureka!" moments. But Steven Johnson shows how history tells a different story. His fascinating tour started with the "liquid networks" of London's coffee houses to today's high-velocity web. I liked his illustrations showing that new ideas sometime come from conversations, not always from isolated reflection.

Went to our grandson's soccer game at Dover High School.  Click HERE for some snapshots of this talented kid.

I entered a National Geographic Photo Contest today.  Have really enjoyed taking pics since I retired.
