SACRIFICE, PATRIOTISM, HARD WORK

I was curious what our country was like for my dad, so I bought this at a book sale. Great read so far. The book outlines the story of the generation that lived through the depression, fought World War II, and built post-war America.

You can't help but compare our culture today with what Brokaw calls "The Greatest Generation". It's clear that today we've gotten pretty far away from sacrifice and patriotism (two things the World War II generation considered standards to live by). They took the world as they found it, and made the best of it. Really proud of you dad!
