NOT GROWING OLD, JUST LIVING LONGER

My sister, Marilyn, and our mom at Wycliffe

Our mom (the one with the halo) will be 93 this May. She has been in Florida for several weeks volunteering for Wycliffe Bible Translators. Seems like she is really enjoying her time there, maybe a little too much..

QUEEN FOR THE DAY

Based on a TED Talk I viewed recently, I guess there are a lot of people her age doing some unusual things. One example:

"Ellsworth Whareham is 97 years old. He's a multimillionaire, yet when a contractor wanted 6,000 dollars to build a privacy fence, he said, "For that kind of money I'll do it myself. So for the next three days he was out shoveling cement and hauling poles around."

"And predictably, perhaps, on the fourth day he ended up in the operating room; not as the guy on the table but the guy doing open-heart surgery. At 97 he still does 20 open-heart surgeries every month."

This is just one example of the new "age" reality. To see this example and others first hand, take less than 5 minutes to watch this short video clip from the TED Talk by clicking HERE
