BROADWAY IN CENTRAL PA

About 30 minutes from our home there is a quaint little town called Boiling Springs.

The town name came from the underground springs that feed their little lake and "boil" in the winter.

Boiling Springs is probably best known for their resort and playhouse called Allenberry-on-the-Yellow-Breeches.  Broadway plays have been running continuously since 1949 at this location, and we (and two friends) plan to catch another production on Friday evening.

These little theaters are found throughout Central Pennsylvania, and we enjoy the incredibly talented performers.  Last month we saw Melissa Gilbert in Steel Magnolias at a similar playhouse about an hour from our home town.

If you are interested in knowing more about the picturesque "Allenberry" just click HERE for an interactive map that shows the resort.  Scroll over the map to view each building.
