Amish Proverb - "Those who have no children know best how to raise them."
We often visit Amish Country in Lancaster County PA, not far from where we live, actually just across the Susquehanna River. Over the years, we've enjoyed these day trips, and our visits have allowed us to better understand and experience the Amish lifestyle.
Obviously, GOOGLE knows where we are all the time, so they sent me an offer recently for a free Kindle book called "Amish Proverbs". I find it very difficult to resist anything free, so I hit the download button.
The author collected more than 400 proverbs about the heritage, faith, values and essence of these people. Actually, the proverbs are interesting, and they make sense, not just for the Amish. They can be applied to all of our everyday circumstances, from the simple to the profound, from the serious to the humorous, the book is full of thoughtful comments:
"The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have been kind to you".
