The greatest Biblical epic of the Old Testament came to life today on the Sight & Sound stage in Lancaster County, PA. Our daughter got tickets for my wife's birthday and we traveled back through time and relived the golden splendor and pride of ancient Egypt, the poverty and oppression of the Hebrew slaves and the humble, broken man that God raised up to become their deliverer. Not only were we completely immersed in the epic events of the story, but we experienced the humanity of Moses and the children of Israel as they struggle for faith, freedom and belonging.
I was struck by the spectacular sets, and found they were created using computer based 3D modeling. The digital files from their computers went directly to their scene shop where large blocks of foam were carved into elaborate shapes literally overnight.
