DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Clock made by
our Uncle Don
Ritchey
Ben Franklin introduced the idea of daylight savings time in 1784. While Ben was talking about using daylight hours for additional productivity, he wasn't suggesting changing the clock. He thought people should just get up earlier and make the best use of available sunlight. What began as a joke in the mind of Mr. Franklin became daylight savings time.

Some might compare the idea of saving time to cutting the bottom of a bedsheet and sewing it on the top to make the sheet longer - the end result just ruins your sheet. Others have found the extra daylight is a welcome addition to their day and enjoy the change each year.

Each of us has a specific amount of time to use, but we can end up treating time as if it serves us - instead of something we spent wisely.

Charles Richards writes, "Don't be fooled by the clock or the calendar. There are only as many days in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week’s value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s value out of a week." (guess they get up earlier).
