OUR FOOTPRINTS CONTAIN A STORY

After clearing snow (again) from our furnace pipes in the back yard, it was much easier to walk back through my own footprints. This was a reminder that getting through a major life struggle is also easier when there are footprints; that is, when we learn about others who have gone through similar struggles.

This morning's Daily Audio Bible podcast was about the struggle between Moses and Pharaoh. (good and evil) As I listened, I could hear our own family's struggles in Moses footprints.

Moses was obedient and did what God asked. But the outcome? Actually, the situation got much more difficult! When we ask God for a miracle, the footprints of Moses tell us that there is a long and drawn out battle, often before we receive a miracle. This shouldn't be a surprise, since we live in an "enemy-occupied" world. (see Wednesday's post)

When struggles come into our life, we can now learn from these footprints:
Deuteronomy 20:1 "When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the LORD your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt."
John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
