Back in the day, I had to carry a light meter to calculate proper aperture and shutter speed before taking each photo. Different kinds of film had to be stocked and refrigerated, based on lighting and speed. Images would go onto a roll of film. The film had to be processed, which took about a week. If the pictures didn't turn out, the entire process had to be repeated.
Things are now a tad different. Obviously, people no longer use light meters. Re-usable image cards have replaced film, and images and video are instantly available to send anywhere in the world. And prints? I just sent some images electronically to to a nearby store and picked up finished prints in 20 minutes.
And the price? Less than $2.00!
