We joined about 20 family and friends last evening at Metro Stadium. The weather was perfect and the top floor of the stadium provided a nice view of the "Pride of the Susquehanna" and the city of Harrisburg, PA. Even though our 92 year old mom spent the entire day out of town with friends, she came along to the game as well.
Everyone enjoyed a lengthy fireworks display after the 3-0 win. The ride home capped off the evening since we played songs that Mom remembered from when she was younger. She quietly sang along, with perfect recall of the lyrics.
You can listen to one of her special songs by clicking HERE. "Down by the Old Mill Stream" was based on the Blanchard river that runs through Findlay, Ohio. (the town where I was born).
