WILL LIFE IMITATE ART?

"California will experience unthinkable damage when the next
powerful quake strikes, probably within 30 years

This was an actual March 2011 headline, which I assume created enough curiosity for someone to spend $110 million dollars on a movie that went something like this.

“After the San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake, a search and rescue helicopter pilot and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter. But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.”

To be candid, my wife and I saw San Andreas since we couldn't find any other decent movie. Actually, we were weren't disappointed. Both the earthquake and tsunami special effects were impressive, which is why most people go to these kind of movies. We didn't expect much of a plot, but thought the story worked, was done well, and held your interest. If you have to go through a serious earthquake, a movie is the way to do it.

When leaving the theater my wife and I agreed there's not much chance we will be moving to San Francisco any time soon.
