MOTHER DANCE
Great book that speaks to all relationships, not just a mom and her kid.
Written from her dual perspective as a psychologist and a mother, Lerner brings us her personal tales that are funny and heart-wrenching.
From birth to the empty nest, the author says parents are not in control of what happens to their children, that most of what we worry about doesn't happen, and that our children will love us with all our imperfections, if we can do the same for them.
I listened to the author on a podcast and she sounds like the real deal. It was refreshing to hear a counselor counsel from honest experience, rather than cookie cutter advice that often causes more damage than good.
