The eaglets are well fed and getting ready to fly (seven fish were in the nest for breakfast early this morning).
Anyway, seeing the seven fish made me think of my friend the Blue Heron at Pinchot Lake. I plan to search for Blue later today and if I'm lucky, I'll be able to see what he's having for breakfast too. Here are some pics from earlier summers.
Mother eagle is having a hard time keeping the eaglets under her wings, but they will have to wait a few weeks before their first solo launch from the nest. In the picture, Mom just left to run errands and the chicks are under Fathers watch until she returns.

After not catching any fish all morning last summer, Blue landed next to me and gave me a quick lesson. |

FELINE UPDATE: EVEN THE CAT IS GETTING OLD
My wife's cat PENNY had to be fitted with glasses today. Next birthday she will be 14 years old (72 human years) and she has yet to crack a smile. |
