FRIDAY IN MYSTIC

Started the day in Olde Mistick Village featuring distinctive shops designed to represent a New England Village of about 1720.  While my wife was shopping I enjoyed taking pictures of picturesque settings of flowers, trees & duck ponds throughout the village.  Click pictures to enlarge.

Next stop will be Mystic Seaport, a 19th century seafaring village.

Tomorrow we will tour the ships shown in the background.

We found lots of ways to get around the Village and Mystic River.  The sound of Sabino's Steam whistle caught me by surprise.  I took this picture from the shore of the seaport.  This ship ride is really an excursion into the past. It takes you along Mystic Seaport's waterfront while passengers get a firsthand view of the operation of her steam plant.  Click on picture to enlarge and see details.

World's oldest wood, coal fired steamboats still in operation.

To cap off our day, we traveled to Moneghan Sun Arena to see one of my wife's favorite people.  This venue is on an Indian Reservation... is open 24/7 ...is crazy fancy.

Almost 10,000 people joined us to enjoy Reba McIntire
